We were contacted in September by Charlotte and David, her father, about playing for Charlotte and her husband-to-be's marriage service in St Francis de Sales Church, in Longfield, Kent. Charlotte decided on a trio rather than a quartet, and on seeing the church, I understood why!
The building itself is incredibly unusual - quite small, and almost circular in shape. With a part thatched roof, the setting was both intimate and befitting the very personal and heartfelt service delivered by the priest. Charlotte looked stunning in a lace trimmed dress and was walked down the aisle by her father to the traditional Wedding March by Wagner. We went on to play Claire de Lune by Debussy while they signed the register and in a lighter touch that I think the guests really appreciated, we played Madness, Must be Love as husband and wife and the guests left the church. I'd like to thank Charlotte and her father for trusting us with the responsibility of setting the soundtrack for their wedding ceremony - and wish them every happiness in their lives together!
