I was absolutely delighted when Stacey contacted me about providing a String Quartet for their Kent Wedding at the beautiful High Rocks in Tonbridge. A truly spectacular venue by anyone's standards, Stacey and Lee had their beautiful wedding ceremony in The Presidents Suite. Stacey and Lee had requested that we play our own arrangement of Sam Smith's 'Lay Me Down' as Stacey and her bridal party walked down the aisle, Ed Sheeran's 'Thinking Out Loud' as they signed the register, and they had commissioned us to arrange 'What Makes You Beautiful' by One Direction as the song they walked out to.
We then followed Stacey and Lee across the road into the High Rocks themselves for their drinks reception, where we played a selection from our more modern repertoire list. It was such a pleasure to return to High Rocks for such a stunning Kent Wedding, and it just remains for me to thank Stacey and Lee for asking us to be their Kent Wedding String Quartet. Below are a few images taken by Stacey and Lee's professional photographer, Sabrina Stockwell - many thanks indeed to her for allowing us to use them. http://sabrinazala.wix.com/sabrinastockwell

We were contacted in September by Charlotte and David, her father, about playing for Charlotte and her husband-to-be's marriage service in St Francis de Sales Church, in Longfield, Kent. Charlotte decided on a trio rather than a quartet, and on seeing the church, I understood why!
The building itself is incredibly unusual - quite small, and almost circular in shape. With a part thatched roof, the setting was both intimate and befitting the very personal and heartfelt service delivered by the priest. Charlotte looked stunning in a lace trimmed dress and was walked down the aisle by her father to the traditional Wedding March by Wagner. We went on to play Claire de Lune by Debussy while they signed the register and in a lighter touch that I think the guests really appreciated, we played Madness, Must be Love as husband and wife and the guests left the church. I'd like to thank Charlotte and her father for trusting us with the responsibility of setting the soundtrack for their wedding ceremony - and wish them every happiness in their lives together! |
