Abigail and David contacted us about their wedding in the Hatton Rose Garden of Bradbourne House after hearing us at the Bradbourne House Wedding Fayre. They were happy to trust us entirely with the choice of music - and after sending David suggestions, along with youtube clips, we agreed on beautiful, traditional favourites for the three important moments of the ceremony. We were very lucky with the weather for the first ever wedding to be held in the beautiful Hatton Rose Garden at Bradbourne House - although the wind did threaten to take down our gazebo on one or two occasions! After the wonderful, heartfelt ceremony, we relocated to the back of the main house to play a little longer while the wedding party had photos taken and began their drinks reception. It was an honour to be present at the start of Abigail and David's journey as husband and wife - and we thank them again for asking us to be their Bradbourne House Wedding String Quartet. 11/3/2014 0 Comments Alix & Matt, Aynhoe ParkWhen Alix and Matt contacted me about playing for their wedding at Aynhoe Park I was so excited - not least because the venue itself is one of the most spectacular venues we have ever had the pleasure of playing at. They had a very clear idea of what they wanted. They wanted Elvis Presley's 'Can't Help Falling in Love' for the bride's entrance, and 'God Only Knows' for their recessional. As they wanted a violin duo, I immediately set about the challenge of arranging their special requests for the required ensemble. On the day itself, the weather simply could not have been better - we had beautiful sunshine for the outdoor ceremony in the breathtaking grounds overlooking the Oxfordshire countryside on what I think was actually one of the hottest days of the summer. Playing outside does present challenges - namely that our delicate (and very expensive!!) instruments need protecting from the sun and from the rain (afterall, we live in England and have to be prepared for the unexpected downpour!), but our instruments were protected by an elegant white parasol - which we almost lost when one of the guests arrived by helicopter! It is always such an honour to be asked to be a part of such a pivotal day in someone's life, that I can honestly say that I enjoy every single second of my work. A huge thank you to Alix and Matt for asking us to provide their Aynhoe Park wedding ceremony music.
