It was an early start for this particular Kent String Quartet this morning - but what a pleasure it was to play for the beautiful Clare and James at their wedding in Aynhoe Park, Oxfordshire today!
Aynhoe Park is an absolutely stunning Oxfordshire wedding venue - privately owned, but available for private hire, it is set amongst expansive countryside and the house itself is a treasure trove of art, sculpture, installations and curiosities. Aynhoe Park recommended us to Clare and James when they started planning their wedding there in January of last year. Originally they asked us to play during their champagne reception, but subsequently decided that they'd like us to play for them and their guests during their ceremony as well. The wedding ceremony took place at St Michael's Church, where the vicar, Simon, led a beautiful, traditional service. James particularly loves Beethoven's '5 Secrets', a cover of which was done by OneRepublic and The Piano Guys. We happily undertook this as a bespoke arrangement, and Clare walked down the aisle with her father to a piece which was obviously very special to the bride and groom. After their wedding ceremony, we relocated to the Orangery in the main house. The warm sunshine flooded the room and we played a mixture of classical, jazz and modern songs while Clare and James enjoyed their first few hours as husband and wife. I'd like to thank Clare and James for asking us to be their Oxfordshire Wedding String Quartet today, and Piacere String Quartet wish them every pleasure and joy in their lives together!
